NFLD Gingersnaps
- 1 cup granulated sugar
 - ¾ cup shortening
 - 1 egg
 - 4 tbsp dark molasses
 - 2 ½ cups all purpose flour
 - 1 tsp baking soda
 - 1 tsp ginger
 - 1 tsp cloves
 - 1 tsp cinnamon
 - ½ tsp salt
 
Cream sugar and shortening; beat in egg and molasses. Mix together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. From into balls, roll in sugar and flatten with fork. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 10 minutes.
